2016 Ladders for Leaders Program Application

 

Ladders for Leaders. Ladders for Leaders is a nationally recognized program that offers high school and college students the opportunity to participate in paid professional summer internships with leading corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies in New York City. The program is an initiative of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and supported by the NYC Center for Youth Employment and the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City. Ladders for Leaders: Ladders for Leaders gives students a unique opportunity to explore their interests and discover new ones through: ✔ Pre-employment Training:Receive help with résumé and cover letter writing, and interviewing skills. Learn essential workplace readiness skills and business etiquette. ✔ Paid Summer Internships:Paid internship opportunities available in a variety of industries to accommodate student interests. ✔ Opportunity to join our growing Alumni Network: Broad network of alumni, post-internship opportunities and networking events open only to past participants of the program. Who is Eligible? ✔ Youth between the ages of 16-22 who are enrolled in high school or college ✔ A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 ✔ Resident of one of the five boroughs of New York City ✔ Anyone with prior work experience, either paid or volunteer ✔ Legally allowed to work in New York City

 

	Please keep in mind that any NYC Ladders for Leaders applicant who is also interested in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) will need to apply for SYEP separately when the application becomes available in March.
	The online application will be available on March 3rd, 2016.

The Manhattan Borough Arts Festival is being held during the wonderful early summer days: June 6-11^th  for the Visual Arts and June 13^th for the Performing Arts!

 

Manhattan Borough Arts Festival Application and Information- Please Disseminate Widely!

 

Requirements:

 

-K-12

-open to all Districts 1-6, 79,75.

- both the visual and the performing arts (music, dance and theatre)

- submitting teachers must be certified Department of Education arts specialists, 7-12

-on high school level, students may complete application, only with the permission of teacher

-2 visual arts submissions per school

-3 performing arts submissions per school

-deadline for Visual Arts: February 22^nd

-deadline for Performing Arts: March 24^th
