FW: New programs at the LES Girls Club!

Greetings from the LES Girls Club,

 

We are starting a new session of FREE programs at our state of the art 30,000 square foot facility.  We hope you can join us, so please read below and sign up HERE

·  This session starts Monday, May 2nd and ends Saturday, June 18th 

·  There will be homework help Tuesday - Friday from 3:30-4:30

·  After-school programs are from 4:30 - 6:15 (unless otherwise noted)

·  Healthy snack and fresh smoothie are provided

·  Programs are for girls in 6th grade and up (unless otherwise noted)

·  SONYC Members (girls in grades 6, 7, and 8th grade) and current Girls Club members will have first priority for all programs

·  Submitting this form does not guarantee space in a program

·  Space is limited and we will do our best to make sure you are in your 1st choice classes.

FW: BMCC STEP - ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for SUMMER 2016

 

The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) is now accepting applications for the SUMMER 2016 session.

WHAT IS STEP?

STEP programs are designed to increase the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students prepared to enter college, and improve their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health related fields and the licensed professions. 

BMCC STEP provides NYC students in the 9th through 12th grades with a range academic of enrichment courses, research experience, and special programs in science, mathematics and technology content areas.

 

Any student who is intrigued by a possible career in a STEM(Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) field is highly encouraged to apply.  Students who seek to gain a competitive edge for the SAT are also encouraged to apply to this program.


PROGRAM DETAILS

Location: BMCC, 199 Chambers Street.
Dates:  July 18th to August 18th, 2016.  

Days: Mondays-Thursdays (no Fridays)

Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm

Daily lunch & subway access are provided to all participants of the program.
