FW: Public Advocate Debate Joins us at BMCC!

Good Afternoon Lower Manhattan Arts Academy,

Borough of Manhattan Community College has been given an incredible opportunity that we’re looking forward to sharing with your students! We will be hosting an official Candidate Debate for the Office of Public Advocate of the City of New York. The debate will be held on Wednesday, February 20th from 7pm-8:30pm in Theater 1 of the Tribeca Performing Arts Center and will be moderated by Errol Louis, host of NY1’s “Inside City Hall.”

This will be an exhilarating opportunity to bring your students to campus to hear more about current events and issues likely to include immigration, criminal justice reform, affordable housing, income inequality, and LGBT/Gender equity. You’re welcome to bring groups of 15-30 students to listen to the conversation alongside BMCC’s staff, faculty, and students. Also feel free to submit questions the candidates may respond to. BMCC is an institution that celebrates the diversity and energy of the city. We invite you to come learn and get a unique perspective about the issues and political climate we currently face.

If you would like more information on reserving seats for your school, please feel free to reach out to me at your earliest convenience josperez@bmcc.cuny.edu . We look forward to welcoming you so that you can take advantage of this unique opportunity, while also getting to see our lovely campus, staff, and students. We hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Joshua A Perez
