Dear LoMA Community,  

A few items to share with you… 

First, Thursday, May 23^rd from 10:30am – 11:00am, is the Seward Park Campus Safety Town Hall Meeting. Every month, school campuses have a safety meeting in which staff members from each of the schools meet with School Safety and the Custodian to discuss common issues and interests around campus-wide safety. Every year, school campuses have to open up the meeting to the larger community in the form of a Town Hall. You are invited to attend this Town Hall on Thursday, May 23rd. The focus is not on specific schools within the campus, but the campus itself. If you are unable to attend, but have questions or concerns about the campus, please email those questions or concerns to both Latrice Cordero (LCordero@schools.nyc.gov) and Taisha Perez (taiperez308@gmail.com). I will make sure that all questions & concerns about campus issues are presented at the meeting, and that responses are shared back via email.  

Second, with the end of the school year rapidly approaching, 9^th Grade students will need to make their decision about what Arts Major to select.  As per LoMA policy in the Student Handbook, 9^th Grade students will be given the opportunity to declare their major – Visual Art, Music, Dance, Theatre. "Students determination of a major is based on attendance during 9^th Grade. Students with the best attendance will receive their first choice. Students with poor attendance will take what is left. LoMA Administration makes all final decisions on the selection of students' majors."  9^th Grade students will make their decisions and hand them in on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 26th.   Students will receive their results of majors during the summer. 

Third, the Senior Potluck Brunch Picnic is scheduled for Friday, May 24^th in Prospect Park. Seniors will leave from school and parents are invited to attend and meet us at the park @10:30am.  Parents are welcomed to bring something delicious to share or simply share their company.  The location within Prospect Park is closest to the 15^th Street F Train stop at Bartel-Prichard Square. Map directions will be provided directly to the seniors. Feel free to text AP Yetta Garfield with any questions: 917-309-7201.

Primero, jueves 23 de mayo. ^rd de 10: 30a metro - 11: 00a metro , es la reunión del ayuntamiento de seguridad del campus de Seward Park. Cada mes, los campus escolares tienen una reunión de seguridad en la que los miembros del personal de cada una de las escuelas se reúnen con Seguridad escolar y el Custodio para hablar sobre temas e intereses comunes relacionados con la seguridad en todo el campus. Cada año, los campus escolares tienen que abrir la reunión a la comunidad en general en forma de un ayuntamiento. Te invitamos a asistir a este Ayuntamiento el jueves 23 de mayo. rd . El enfoque no está en escuelas específicas dentro del campus, sino en el campus mismo. Si no puede asistir, pero tiene preguntas o preocupaciones sobre el campus, por favor correo electrónico esas preguntas o preocupaciones a Latrice Cordero ( LCordero@schools.nyc.gov ) y Taisha Pérez ( taiperez308@gmail.com ). Me aseguraré de que todas las preguntas y preocupaciones Los problemas del campus se presentan en la reunión y las respuestas se comparten a través del correo electrónico.
